what the fuck is this shit? yeah I know bout everyone on here has posted a gas prices related thread but all are getting a bit on the aged side in replies so now here it is.. I got a 4 door sedan.. not a big hummer or escelade or some other gas guzzling ugly monster of a car. a simple mid size sedan. Went to the pump today and told em I wanna fill it up and gave em a 20 for deposit... it TOOK IT ALL!! and wasnt even totally full.. when I bought this fucker a year ago 12 bux filled it from E... now I cant fill it on a 20.. fuck that shit...

we need to get moving on these alternate fuels.. aren't current gas powered cars capable of burning cornohol just like it was gas? or maybe propane or methane or anything... 2.39 for regular aint happening... We've hit the quickest gas price hike.... ever... inside 5 years gas prices have gone up a buck fifty.... all on some premise that raising the prices during extreme hot or cold seasons will curb consumption... NO IT WONT! People will not stop driving just cause gas has almost doubled in price. They will just go into debt, because most people NEED thier car to get to work and run errands and such..

Givin I can see a big cause.. Since now everyone in creation must have the 3 ton 4 1/2 door monster of an SUV with all wheel drive and the ability to cross flooded marsh in the middle of the amazon, to get the 4 miles it is on highway it takes to get to work, or the store, or the bar.. These vehicles get like 10 miles to the gallon and have a double size tank to make up for it. Now since those and the monsterous hemi 4x4's dominate the road and no one wants a sedan or station wagon anymore, gas consumption has prolly increased 10 fold in the last 5 years... trust me, you dont need more storage space then a pods storage locker to go for the weekly groceries.. I can see if you got 4 kids who all like different sports or what not but most these fuckers just get them to have them.. no family.. no wife.. no reason...

anyway.. I've even seen alternate fuel sources that can be reclaimed after combustion for reuse.. You don't get as much back as when you started but still.. combine with a gas electric hybrid idea and you go from a max range on one tank being 700 miles to max range of 2 or 3 thousand..

such is my point.. I've head half its market gouging and half is actually were running out... if were running out I can see those bastards waiting untill were at a state of emergency and they are milking for 10 dollars a gallon before introducing an alternate fuel that can be used in current cars that has prolly already been created...

Ethanol is still more expensive to produce than Gasoline. The problem with alternate fuels is the R&D raising the cost of production. It's going to take time to impliment efficiency.

Soy Diesel, Ethanol, Hydrogen, Solar, and some other renewable fuel sources, are just expensive at the moment, not an ineffective solution to the problem.

Personally I look at high fuel prices as a good thing, it will force many people to open their eyes up to the problem of the U.S. relying on foreign fuel, when there are enough viable, (in time) alternatives for us to be self-sufficient. Change is only going to come when enough people get pissed off.

I just filled up my little 4 cylinder Ford Ranger for $32. :frown:

Me and my mom live roughly 30-40 miles from town. and she has to drive that 6 days a week.. but we do live in colorado and the gas is somewhat cheap [$2.10] and around that area. If we could figure out how to split water and get hydrogen that way..then the gas problem is basically solved..but as of now the only way i know to get hydrogen effectiently is by burning coal :(

I have been looking into buying a Hybrid vehicle. They run on battery packs and gas as a back up. The dealerships that I have talked to say that you only have to fill up every couple of months. The gas only goes on to recharge the battery packs. The only thing I haven't been able to find out is how long the lifespan of the battery packs are and how much it would be to replace them when they wear out. The price is only $5000 more than a gas driven vehicle too. Something to think about........

I guess I'll have to inform the dealerships that I talked to and let them know the lifespan, stupid salesmen not up to date on this crap!!! I'm definitely going to have to test drive the SUV and see how that baby purrs!!!!! I wonder if it sounds different than a gas-powered car? HMMMMMMMM.....

actually they have found a way to create a fuel from water.. its called aqua fuel.. using two carbon rods and a 12v power source a plasma reaction is generated between the two rods when submerged in water.. it created a gas made of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen that is combustable by a normal gas engine. I've seen it work.. the exaust is Carbon monoxide and water vapor.. problem is this... if we use water as a fuel source.. how long till we have expended our entire water supply? givin this.. if oil is getting kinda low after only a century and a half of real use... how long would water have if used as both fuel and human consumption

If we use water as a field source, we are all fucked. Think about how hard the earth would be if the corps controlled the water....holy shit....i think I have a story brewing on that....hmmmm.....anyways,

I remember it taking seven dollars to fill up my best friends old dodge colt....

fuck im old.....

Now, fourty bucks fills it up.

Five bucks in the tank and hte damned low fuel light is still blinking at me. I hate that fucking light.

hey I remember the New Jersey gas wars... at one point in central new jersey just prior to all these hikes gas was 67 cents a gallon.. that was 5 1/2 years ago.. at 2.39 in jersey now.. thats a 350% increase in 5 1/2 years... like I said a larger hike then ever...
