I must admit I never understood the whole dramatic coming out thing.
My mom found out I liked girls when I introduced her to one of my girlfriends. I gave no grand speeches or demanded that she accept that I was bisexual it was simply, "Hey mom my girlfriend April is going to spend the night ok?" My mom said, "Girlfriend like friend or girlfriend like...?" I said, "Girlfriend like."
That was the end of our conversation about it and to this day some fifteen years later we don't talk about the gender of the person I'm seeing; we just talk about them.
Maybe that's why parents get so pissed off; the drama of it all?
If my daughter said to me, "Mom, (insert a chicks name here) and I are going to go see an Ani DiFranco concert and then I'm going to spend the night at her house," I'd know what time it was.
