I actually watched this the other day. It was pretty good. It was weird seeing Tony Plana play a hard fisted dad when he's so sweet in Ugly Betty.

Also, I enjoyed Anna Friel's natural accent, and Alessandro Nivola's fake British one. :D

Kuno Becker was really good. I wanted him to speak more Spanish, since has such a great accent. :sigh:

I'm not sure. I saw a link somewhere on LJ that had the whole movie posted, but it was bad quality. Maybe Netflix will have it soon. :)

I rented this movie from Netflix when it was first released on DVD and ended up being pretty indifferent about it. I did think that Kuno was freakin' HOT and am looking forward to the sequels just so I can drool over him.

Finally watched it and i'm in love. Seriously Kuno is hot and the movie was fantastic. Yeah, nothing oscar related, but to me, it was just fun to watch and I can't wait for the other 2 movies. :)

I've seen the preview for this movie a few times and it looks amazing. Added it to my Netflix list. Can't wait to watch it. :)

I got the European DVD. It's got a few more scenes than the U.S. theatrical release. Plus, some of the spanish that was voiced-over in the U.S. version, was left intact in the European, so it made a bit more sense. The feel was not lost in translation, so to speak. Don't get me wrong, I loved both versions. They have, pretty much, the same effect. :D

We used to have a thread for this but it was eaten in the crash - glad you started a new one. :)

Looking forward to seeing this on DVD.

Hey guys!

I didn't see a thread for this movie, so I decided to open one.

I just saw this movie last night in the theater. I went to see it because one of my favorite Mexican soap opera actors is in it. In fact, he's the lead. :yay: At first, I thought, "Another soccer flick. Blah." But, I came out of the theater happy and a bit teary-eyed. It is a feel-good, follow your dreams kind of movie. I really liked it. The reviews are also positive.

Okay, I'll post more thoughts on the movie if/once the thread gets some hits. :)

I'm off to look for some pictures. :D

Found the poster at univision.com:
