Gnubox for N73

i want to have a copy of the program too...can someone send me the program for n73?, even if its unsigned...ill sign it by myself...thanks :)

Hi guys,

I tried to use this steps for my e50. Everything was all right, but m-Route wrote: "Failed to connect to E50 / Reason: The requested address is not valid in its context. / Error Number: 80072741" :goodness:
COM port is installed as "Communication cable between two computers".
PC recongnized e50 bluetooth device. AnalogX is installed on my PC, too.

When I did Step3: Right click on the mRouter icon on the system tray go to "Connected Device". Refresh the page until it discovers ur phone.
at 1-st: I can refresh only in "Bluetooth Tab" -> e50 appears but as "Not Connected", so I tried to connect my e50 by means of button "Connect" and then is that error window appeared.

What should I do or to try?

pliiiiiz :help: help

Hello!
Could someone please generate a certificate for me, using my IMEI? I can't do it myself: it seems I can't register on the symbiansigned website :S.
If you would like to do it, I'll PM u my IMEI.
Thanks in advance!!

Finally got it to work on my N73. I figured what the problem was.

earlier today I updated my software to the Music edition, and I gave it a shot now and i finally got Gnubox to run! Thanks Tripwire!

Hi All, the good news is I have finally got it to work on my N73. Its taken 2 days of trial and error. I am getting PMs to help with signing, now that I have figured out how to make it work without the Nokia SDK, its shouldn't be a problem, you just need signsis and that is available in the 1.3mb file I linked to earlier as opposed to the 355mb SDK. For those of you still struggling to figure this out here it is.

Please note, this is seriously non-trivial and it may not work for all configurations. I am using a thinkpad T42P and Widcomm drivers from IBM. The native bluetooth drivers in XP SP2 didn't work for me. I am not using mrouter or a proxy server, analogx for this method. The basic thing is first get gnubox.sis working on your phone for which you need to get it signed. Then configure incoming connections in XP, then configure GNUBOX on the phone and keep your fingers crossed.

STAGE 1 - Sign GNUBOX.sis

1. First get gnubox.sis. http://rapidshare.com/files/4548686/gnubox_s60v3.sis

2. Then download this file, it has the application Signsis.exe http://download.macromedia.com/pub/developer/make_sis_explained.zip

3. Get this app from Symbiansigned.com . You will need to sign up for an account here
https://www.symbiansigned.com/DevCertRequest_30_10_2006_v2.0.exe

4. Follow the step by step guide by Lurzsan_07 on page 6 of this thread. Post #88 to sign gnubox.sis. You don't need to download the SDK, Activeperl or Mrouter. Use Signsis.exe from step 2 with the commands given in post #88.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1003702&page=6&pp=15

STAGE 2 - Configure XP SP2

1. Follow this guide exactly with 2 exceptions:
http://web.singnet.com.sg/~kinston/Bluetooth Internet.htm
a. When setting up the 'Bt' access point in your phone enter your dns address in the 'advanced setting' section. 'For your dns address type 'ipconfig /all' in the windows command line.'
b. In incoming connections under the tab 'Users' tick mark 'Require all users to secure their passwords and data'

Stage 3 - Success!

Troubleshooting help
http://xan.dnsalias.org/gnubox/trouble.html#Node_20

Remove native XP SP2 bluetooth drivers

Do a google search for Widcomm drivers.

thnz 4 that great help, but i'm still havning problems with the signing off gnubox. when i typed in the code to sign the app this is what i get "signsis" is not recognized as n internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

OK I will make it nice and slow....NOBODY, repeat NOBODY can send u the key. You have to do it yourself because only you know your IMEI number. Secondly you DON'T have to d/l the 355 MB SDK for that....in this very thread on page 10 you will find instructions on how to do it...

hi,
i have signed and installed gnubox on my n73ME and was able to access internet on it using analogx proxy. i have heard that it is possible to access internet on s60 phones using Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). i tried the same but was unable to access the Internet on the phone.
can somebody please help in this regard?
thanks a ton in advance.

With N95 you could use Wi-Fi to get Internet access on your phone.

To get the files access into your WLAN you could use SymSMB 2.00 from here.
I.e. use your mobile phone for wireless(!) browsing and and copying files located on computer(s).
Also you can do it the opposite way, i.e. to use computer(s) to browse, copy and execute files that are located on phone(s), in this case all phone files will be in an Explorer or any favorite file browser on your computer.
No headache with GnuBox and actually NOTHING to install on computer at all!

P.S. SymSMB 2.00 recommended for all Series 60 3rd Edition phones with WLAN, but it also can be used with Bluetooth as well as GPRS, 3G, WiMAX and so on, as this application is the transport-independent one. All it needs is the working access point. But Bluetooth access point in this case will be significantly slower.

SymSMB 2.00 thread on this forum located here.
