I am sure it is true because his wife has often confirmed it to be so. How can this even be possible in the trouble that the company is in to all such a thing happening?

Shouldnt a stop be put to this sort of thing before asking for a bailout by the government?

He's in a union.

So, he can get away with doing nothing and have little fear of being fired.

And GM can allow it because the government will use our tax dollars to help pay his, and the hundreds of thousands of other employees, salaries.

I know a guy who works at Oscar Mayer and they play card games 6 out of the 8 hours they work. They also take turns napping. As far as the bailout, how can the government pick and choose who to help? People are not buying new cars cuz they have no money..how is bailing out GM going to help that problem?

As part of the contract that GM signed, he is getting paid one way or the other. There is no way to put a stop to it, unless GM folds, which wouldn't be good for anyone.
