GM wants higher pay for execs, to remain competive?

The man makes nine million a year, salary and stock options, and he's worried about retaining good people?
Where are they going to go in this economy?
This from the same company that is outraged over what it agreed to pay union workers?

So here's my question....Why is it an executive causes a company to spend more money to be competitive, but when it comes to the people who actually produce the product, they are expected to allow givebacks, and return of benefits to allow the company to be competitive? Why is it one rule for the rich, and another for the working man?
