A friend has a '02 4WD S-10 if you hit the 4W-Hi or Lo buttons sometimes it shifts and sometimes it does not. Checked wires in back of switch with multimeter it has 12v in and has 12v out on some of the wires when buttons are pressed. Wires on transfer case have 5v also noticed larger black and red wires (no voltage on either)in transfer case connector that are not present in dash switch so I would think there is a control box between the two someplace that relays information. Have checked fuses in box under hood and at drivers side end of dash all good. Are there more fuses? Is there a control box and where is it?
