just wondering does any one think dodge chevy or ford will have to shut down the hole business.im a chevy guy and the way the news makes it sounds chevy mite be gone in the near future same with dodge.

Thats not gonna happen.

Ford, GM, and Chrysler are also very popular in Europe with their small cars not offered in America.

These companies are here to stay.

It's a possibility, but unlikely. Someone else mentioned GM, Dodge, and Ford being popular overseas...not so much. Only two of those three that make a big difference outside of the North American market are Ford, which makes very nice little cars that sell very well in Europe, and GM, which has it's Opel, Holden, and other brands that sell cars in Europe, Australia, and the Asia with notable success. As for Chrysler, they don't have much of an impact on overseas markets and it wouldn't really surprise me if they went belly-up. Even their new cars can't keep up with the competition. At least GM has some nice new models like the Malibu and their Crossovers. Chrysler just doesn't seem to being doing so well.
I would think that if one of these companies were on the verge of losing everything and ceasing production, they would try to find a strong company to partner with. Wouldn't it be strange to drive a Dodge manufactured by Honda? It could actually be quite a good thing, really.
Ford has some hope I think. In the next few years they'll be sending some very good small cars to the US that have been in the European market for years. Cars like the Fiesta, Kuga, and C-Max are all possibilities according to Automobile magazine (the Fiesta is for-sure now). GM also has some good new products that should help them out. The new Chevy Malibu has won lots of awards and is selling quite well, along with the Cadillac CTS, Acadia/Outlook/Enclave/Traverse crossovers, and some upcoming fuel efficient small vehicles (Volt, Cruze, perhaps an Aveo replacement).
Chrysler, on the other hand, I haven't really read anything about them introducing anything fantastic to the market recently or in the foreseeable future. They seem to be struggling the most in my opinion.
