GM- code:P1870, tranny... are there any signs from other instruments that might help...?

determine the actual issue? For example, I noticed recently that my dash lights aren't always coming on. I can be driving for ten mins then suddenly they'll pop on. Thought it was that my door wasn't sensing closed. Is this symptomatic of the P1870 GM code?
