GM Buff's Engine and Tranny question for you?

I have an 02 GMC Sierra reg cab 2 wheel drive 4.3L. I am planning on making this a street truck that is not for everyday use anymore, got a new Sierra for that now. What would be a good engine to produce around 400hp and ball parking around 400TQ? Along with this what is a strong tranny to use in this application? I would like to keep this Fuel injected and would like to know where I could buy a computer system to match the new muscle?


I know it would be easier to buy a truck with a 5.3 and mod off of there but this truck holds sentimental value and I cannot part with it. Any tips would be great. Thanks in advance.
 
A 383 stroker motor would be a perfect fit for your application. The fuel injection will be the most expensive route, but it is available. Check out the links below for pricing.
