GM Brake Booster replacement?

Take a look at the area in which you will have to work. If there is plenty of room to get tools in and out it is not a big deal. I have replaced a couple in much smaller vehicles. Two nuts to remove the master cylinder (leave the brake lines attached) then inside it is 4 bolts under the dashboard after getting the carpet out of the way. Then the c clip on the shaft to the brake pedal.

Make certain the real problem isn't the rubber grommet where the big vacuum line from the engine manifold goes into the body of the booster. These can split from age. 5 minute fix if you have that problem. Also might want to check the rubber hose itself.

Only reason I mention it is that a '99 seems pretty young to have this kind of an issue.

I've got a 99 Yukon with a bad brake booster (hissing bad, takes 5 seconds to engage brake, real stiff). Told I need to replace it. Is this doable by DIY, or is it just not worth it?
