gm 400 turbo trans lost reverse. need to be rebuilt or easy fix?

just put the trans in worked fine. 2 days later i was at my friends house backed out of his driveway went down the street to my other friends house when i tried to back out it would barely move. i was wondering if it needs rebuilt or there is something else wrong
 
how was the transmission fluid, was it full? when was the last time the fluid and filter been changed?
