Ok, I don't know the history of the vehicle(96 S-10 blazer 4wd)or exactly what happened? It has around 200k miles but ran fairly decent before breaking down. Here's what im being told what happened. Heading home it ran about the same,and got 3 blocks from the house it quit and let out a backfire like standing next to a shotgun.Everyone told her its blown junk it,and others have said it could have dumped a piston? I don't think it's hurt cause it rolls over with tons of compression just wont start.
This is what I have done so far.A new timing chain with all gears and dots lined up(balance shaft design motor)and half assembled to see if it starts.Turns over and stumbles like a diesel and backfires periodically through the exhaust.Haven't dug into it to much yet but will on the weekend and any help/ideas would be greatfull.
