Gm pickup wouldn't start this morning..the truck was driven like two days previous without any signs that something is wrong..the truck always started up fine

...tried jumping it...battery reads 12.0 on the meter..no luck...the leads from the battery are tight.
Starter sounds like it is turning the engine over..you get the classic cha-cha -cha when one turns the key..the fan belt turns...yet there was no sign of combustion( like it almost started)
We removed one of the spark plugs..turned the key and got a spark.
I put 3 gallons of gas into the truck to make sure that wasn't the problem.
We checked the fuses and relays in the engine compartment..all looked good..
You can hear the fuel pump come online when one turns the key...

what else should I check?..what do you think it more than likely is? the weather conditions have been warm here like 45 degrees which melted alot of snow( water could have been slashed up into the engine)
sprayed starter fluid..
spark plug test yield bright blue spark..
plug boots had a bit of mosture to them
no grinding when trying to start..
engine turned over at normal speed..didn't seem slow

It a bit difficult to understand whether the starter motor is turning over normally or slow here

by what you've written. Tried jumping it why ?

Sounds like moisture has built up ( possibly from under the distributor cap ) from the increase in temp.

First thoughts anyway.

Have you done a wiggle test on your wiring loom around the engine wiggle the sensor connections gently make sure there plugged insecurely, are you absolutely sure that the fuel is getting to the cylinder? If not a safe easy way to check is to use EASY START spray into the air cleaner while you turn over. cRank the engine for ten seconds and then remove a couple of the plugs are they wet?
What colour is the spark? Should be bright Blueish, do you have a broken ring gear on the starter? any grinding when you crank? gd luck
