Understand the Issue:
The single most important thing to understand about AGW is that it is simply a new manifestation of the Socialist Political Religion:
A) Instead of an appeal to faith it puts forth what appears to be an appeal to Reason: Historical Inevitability (Old Marxism) or AGW (the latest)
B) Despite Item A), it's followers invariably behave with a "religious" fervor, demonizing all opposition as evil or mentally deficient.
C) Their discourse may seem to be even-handed at first glance, but will eventually reveal another universal aspect of this quasi-religion: an undercurrent of imagined intellectual and moral superiority. They "know better" than we do, so they are "entitled" to declare the "debate is over" and you are stupid (sometimes they call it "false consciousness") or you are deliberately evil (you are "in the pay of Big Oil") if you argue against them.
D) The most effective litmus test to detect these Neo-Marxist zealots is: Their final solution to the problem ALWAYS involves putting an un-elected, self-selecting elite in complete charge of everything - a group they just happen to be part of. No matter how smoothly they argue, the end of one of their "sermons" is always going to be a solution with diminished economic, political and individual freedoms for people they consider “beneath them” – like us.
This is not Science, it's about political POWER & Redistribution of Wealth.
