Gladiator Sequel?!

Yeah, if it makes money, they'll produce whatever crap they like.

Snakes on a Plane springs instantly to mind, although I haven't seen it, it looks like utter tripe.

I once hears that Hollywood executives tried to persuade James Cameron to make a sequel to Titanic. I have no idea if it's true but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Didn't Nick Cave (he of the Bad SeeRAB) write a script for the Gladiator sequel? I think he mentioned it on Film 2005/2006. It was, apparently, very good but Scott and Crowe decided against it.

If it is a sequel, they could say that the "death" at the end of the first film was part of a plan to allow Maximus to go home to Spain and live quietly as a farmer. :)
