Gladiator Blu Ray Disc Replacement

Just in case your not aware Universal are doing a Free disc replacement for the Blu Ray of Gladiator due to complaints of the transfer quality. Personaly I didn't find it to be a problem, but if there is a better quality version available for Free then why not. Source

Absolute nonsense. While it has been clearly DNR'd in some scenes, it looks a lot better than the DVD (and the sound is stunning). Personally i'd rather have a bit of DNR than an overly grainy film. It's not THAT bad...

I received my replacement copy on Saturday. It took about 3 weeks from sending them the original.
I haven't watched it all yet, but I checked the scene where the DNR wiped out a lightning strike, and it was fine. Definately more filmlike, including film grain.
I think the real issue was that Paramount/Universal released it on the cheap using the original DVD encode which was totally unsuitable for HD.
Saying all that, I never really had a problem with the original, but as I am upgrading to a larger TV soon, I thought I'd take advantage of the exchange.

I received my replacement disc today and it certainly looks better from what I've seen so far.
As I understand, any Gladiator Blu Ray discs purchased from now on should have the new transfer.

On the underside of the disc around the centre there is a bar code which has 2 codes which are:
L0 G51-28647/1 V02 POK and L1 G51-28647/2 V02 DWM
