Given up on Nokia S60

Yeah...i'm with you. If there was a phone on the market that had a web browser half as good as current v3's I probably would have added one to my arsenal but there doesnt appear to be. Even the N75's vertical viewing is going to be dissapointing when the N95 could just be about perfect with US 3G and the horizontal viewing.

Maybe Nokia are thinking they will just skip the US-only GSM 3G (that is a pretty small niche, let's face it ) and jump ahead to GSM + Wi-Max enabled phones. Didnt someone announce a phone chip with this?

After talking to the Nokia reps here at CES regarding the N75, I'm starting to think the problems are with the Cingular version of the firmware. Several of the guys have been beta testing a generic firmware version of the phone are are not running into any of the problems the Cingular testers are getting. And they said that if Cingular decides not to carry it, they will sell it themselves from their retail stores and website. But.....they warned me that Cingular might block access to their 3G network. Personally I don't think that'll be a problem because we are able to use the HTC TyTN with no problems. I didn't bother mentioning that to them.

Major difference, the KRZR is ugly but it's been out a while. Nokia used to be the "innovator" now they are just following every other company design wise. I hate the RZR style phones...I would love to have a N75 in my hands right now but I can't.

I wish they would just release it unbranded and unlocked, EFFF the crappy cingular f/w!

Back on topic, I've decided to wait it out, played with the Motorola, SE, and Samsung phones at the Cingular store, and man do they suck. I'm a serious s60 addict.
