Girls what are those bags called that you take instead of backpacks to school?

Those that girls wear and they have a single strap that you put around you and the actual bag is at your hip.

I think they are called messenger bags, are they? Are there other names for them?
 
ITS USUALLY A MESSENGER BAG. U CAN ALSO USE A TOTE BAG 2 HOLD UR BAGS =] =P =D
