ghostbusters

I've only seen the movies, not the animated series, but based on the movies (the first one being my favorite movie) i'd like a cartoon based on them. As to the original cast getting old a 'next generation' type thing wouldn't inherently stink, but i'd just have the cast voice the characters, who would look like they did in the movies- i.e the same way the simpsons characters voice actors are growing but the characters aren't.

Then again i suppose the franchise is getting dated... i only first saw the first movie in 2006 so i guess i'm behind the times a trifle... But it does have a fresh modern feel to it... I reckon an animated series based upon it could be successful... Perhaps the Ghostbusters could join forces with Kim Possible.

Ghostbusters isn't Disney. That could only happen in fan fiction. Anyway, Kim Possible doesn't fight ghosts. You could have suggested that the Ghostbusters cross over with another show that actually deals with the supernatural, like Danny Phantom or So Weird.

Although for the life of me, I'll never understand the obsession with crossovers. They're highly overrated. Even now, Ghostbusters could do just fine as a series on it's own without being part of some cheesy crossover.

Maybe some of us aren't against crossovers.

I don't know what 'cheesy' means but i think Kim Possible is a good character, and seeing as the ghostbusters are also good characters it was the first one that came to mind, though there would be many other possible crossovers, like The Simpsons or Daria etc...

And within their own genre theres... I dunno any ghost cartoons. well Scooby-Doo but that's not REAl ghosts.

I think it could work good as it's own without a crossover too though...

Just to set the record straight since no one seems to have heard this news:

Ghostbuster III is supposed to begin filming in November or December this year assuming they haven't found another snag.

They were looking for a 2012 release.

Loose script releases say the movie is going to heavily deal with a Doomsday type theme to coincide with the theory/rumors/belief that the Earth is going to end in 2012. (Not like this is a new theme to the movies >.>)

The movie is also meant to be a torch passing movie like it's always been discussed to be where, the original Ghostbusters pass the torch onto new Ghostbusters.

Some articles suggested (hopefully comically) that the pitch was to pass the torch onto hot chicks to appeal to the would be production companies. Although this sounds like a joke, to the best of my knowledge none of the main authors to the series ever seemed to deny it >.<

I guess we'll see more when things ramp up.
