Getting the bike to track right...

Yes, in general it sounds like you have it figured out. But i agree with the others, you need to get the sag set for your weight and get proper spring rates if necessary. Without the basics you'll be chasing your tail.

Just a quick update...

I was on the track again today, and I think I've been able to solve the problem!

I increased the rear compression with 3 clicks harder, and softened the preload on the rear by 2 clicks. No more wiggling around for me, ye! I pushed it harder and harder out of the problematic corner, and at one point was hitting 160-180km/h coming out of the turn before I had to slow for the next. It stayed its line, and didnt move from it.

I had more confidence in the bike, and was able to start concentrating on trun-in points, apexes and opening the throttle earlier out of the corners, and better body positioning.

I dropped my laptimes by 7 seconds, from my previous trackday laptimes. Definatly a huge improvement.

Thanks for all the info and help guys. Much appreciated

Probably rider weight and style. If both bikes are exibiting same issue.

I think his 54 translates to about 120 pounds. The bike should be nice and stable through long sweepers atleast.

After reading everything said by the O.P. I must agree this sounds more like rider input. Now that you have what feels like an appropriate baseline spend your time and money on you like has been said don't drop a ton of money making changes it will only slow down your progress because the bike will feel different everytime you take it back to the track.

I unfortuanatly dont live next door to dan Kyle and those guys. So I cant just go out the door and get new springs, and reset my forks etc. If i do that here, I will never get my bike back in one piece...its that bad...Ducati service here sucks, and theres no experts here to do those jobs you suggested. But thanks anyway.

It seems to be better now..maybe not perfect but certainly better. Rider input is arguably part of it, but it is a naked and wind direction across the track could also b a factor...

Think the next thing to overcome is just my own mental fear...but I geuss that comes with more tracktime.

again, thanks for all the advice
