I'm 61 yrs. old and have been in good health. I had a complete hysterectomy September 2008 and had an easy recovery. I noticed that I've been tired lately BUT I also haven't been doing as much as I used to so I just figured that my body was adjusting to doing very little. Back in June I got my annual sinus infection that was really a doozy. I had a little cough off and on (nothing bad) and then in August got another "mini" sinus problem, another in September and another in October. These last three only lasted about 5 days and didn't require any doctor intervention. When I went for a gynecological check-up (about a week before the last sinus problem) I was told that my white blood count was elevated and looked like I might have an infection and they asked several questions about back pain, etc. Doctor did find that I had a yeast infection BUT I've had them before and never had the blood problem as far as I know. I've had some hot flashes BUT have had them off and on for years. Have even had some vision problems but have had those before and last but not least memory problems (blamed this on my age and mean old Mr. Menopause).
I have read an article recently and realized that all of these are symptoms of leukemia. They are probably symptoms of other things as well but it really hit home. Am I being ridiculous? I will talk myself into going to my Dr. but it usually takes a while for me to get "up" to doing so.
