Ok, after looking through some of the threads here (both old and new) I see there are a lot of questions on how to remove the VZW banner on your Audiovox phone and put your own custom banner up.
I know for a fact this hack/trick works on my 9900 and my brother got it to work on his 8910, and I've heard it works on other, but I can't say for sure.
Follow these instructions to the letter, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT change anything else.
(My disclaimer: I am not responsible in anyway, shape or form if you screw up your phone by playing around inside your phone)
So, if you feel uncomfortable doing this little hack, please don't attempt it. If your willing to take the chance, read on.
Ok, here we go:
First, if you have Security turned on to lock on startup, turn that off before attempting this. You can turn it back on of course after your done.
Turn off your phone.
Turn your phone back On.
Just as soon as your usual screen comes up type: 289, press the left soft key, #, 1
If you did this right you should see "NAM 1 Setting?" Choose Yes
Scroll down to "ERI Setting?" Choose Yes.
Where it says "ERI Change Enable", type in 0, scroll down a few times to make sure the 0 stays there.
Press the left directional key once and scroll down 5 times to "General Settings". Choose Yes.
Go to "Idle Banner Settings". Choose Yes.
Type in anything you want...or Leave It Blank if you don't want anything to show up. Once you have what you want as a banner typed in, Click OK.
Scroll down 10 times and get back to "NAM 1 Setting?" Press the Green Vad key (the send key).
Display will say "NAM Writing". Phone will restart. Whatever you typed in will show on the display and the Verizon Wireless banner will now forever be gone.
That's all there is to it. The only hard part to this is getting into the settings when your normal screen first appears. If you don't get it right away, try again. It took me a couple times before I finally got inside the phone.
Hope this helps some of you that are going crazy trying to get your personal banners up.
If you have any problems, don't hesitate to ask, I'll sure try and help all I can.
