Getting Rid of Gnats in Car?

This is an odd question, I know. I have three toddlers (set of twins) who constantly (at least until the problem started) leave food all around my car. A couple of days ago, I noticed a few gnats so I cleaned out the entire car and vaccumed it, I now have a "no eating policy" BUT today I noticed a few more! I guess with the summer heat, they just got attracted to something. My question is, how do I get rid of them for good? I read for homes, you can buy those "bombs" and stuff, but im not sure its safe for my car.

Also, has anyone ever had a similar experience (just want to make myself feel better!)?

Thanks

use a homemade trap when the car is parked. Use a small jar with about 1/3 of the jar filled loosely with strawberry hulls or very brown, thick banana slices, peel included. rubberband a clear plastic wrap over the top of the jar and punch about 8 holes with a toothpick. take the jar out when you go somewhere and put it back in when you park.
