Getting off of Atarax

Having taken atarax for a year, small dose, I stopped it because I thought it was giving me negative side effects. I now have extremely burning skin on my neck, arms, lip and chest and back. Do you think this is related to stopping this med. It is an antihistimine that helps with anxiety. I am really suffering right now and worried there is something really wrong other than discontinuance of this pill. Anyone?
 
I doubt it is from stopping a small dose of Atarax...but anything is possible. If these symptoms continue then of course go to see the doctor. Meanwhile take something for the pain like tylenol or ibuprofen or whatever you have for pain. If you are still needing something for anxiety there are so many others on the market like ativan or xanax.
 
Been the benzo route. Benzos have seriously bad withdrawal issues of which I am still in the process of going through after 15 months off of a very tiny dose of valium for a few years. The suffering is immeasurable. Therefore I went to atarax on dr's advice. But this too causes side effects that are not liveable.

Too bad there is nothing really great to address these problems.
