ok so im getting married, ive heard that the bride and groom are to get presents for eachother to be given to them on the morning of the wedding by the best man and the maid of honour as we obviously wont be seeing eachother. i live in uk and just wondering if this is true?? ;-)

Yes it does happen. That's what me and my husband did (got married in January). I named a star after him (he got a framed certificate etc) and bought him tickets for a behind the scene tour of Wembley Stadium. He got me a watch and bracelet set which I wore for the wedding and a me to you bear. It was a nice touch. We got each other cards too.

Hi there, yeh I've heard of that! I live in Scotland and work in a kilt hire shop so we get brides in often looking for presents, which are normally things that make up the highland dress outfit. From experience the presents are normally things like a watch or cuff links or some other item of jewellery, but you know your fiance better than anyone so I'm sure you'll find a great pressie!

hey, i'm from Ireland and i've heard of that too! my husband and i did this for each other - just little token gifts, nothing too expensive!

I think its a nice gesture but equally i know a lot of couples who don't do this...
