Getting married, can I get more financial aid? ? ?

My mom make's over the FAFSA income limit or whatever, so I won't be getting very much financial aid. My mom pays for everything. At one point I was helping her financially, but now that my hours have been cut from 36 hours to 9 I am unable to do that. So I decided that I want to go to school. I didn't expect them to say that I would get less than half and the rest will have to be paid out of pocket. THAT SUX. Not only do I not have a job, I can't get financial aid, and this is really making me mad. I am getting married, will I be considered an independent student even if I still live with my mom?
Well I don't know how you can live on your own when you don't get hours at work? Ever considered that. My boyfriend can't support us, by hisself either especially when he is trying to go to school too.

As long as you are married, you will be considered independent regardless of where you live. On the FAFSA you answer a set of questions, and if you answer yes to any of the questions then you are independent. one of the questions is "Are you married?". You would be able to answer yes. It does not ask where you live as part of determining your independent status.

Why are you getting married and living with mom? That defeats the whole purpose.

You would have to call the people at FASFA, because while you are married, at the same time you still do live with mommy.
