...to stop the shedding myself? getting him gromed is not in my budget so what are some good hair brushes i can get to stop the shedding myself
 
well i have a keeshond and what i have found that works best is one of those little dog combs with the metal teeth close together and trust me she has sooooooo much hair and the little thing has done a lot, in like 5 minutes we pulled out enough hair to cover like 10 square ft so ya that's what works best for me. They work well in pulling out the under coat which is the coat that sheds, hope this helps!

You really can't eliminate all the shedding, but the furminator does a really good job of reducing my dogs. I have both short hair and long hair dogs and it does wonders! I still have to do it a couple times a week, but it really reduces the stray hair I find all over my furniture and myself! Its fairly expensive in the beginning, but it pays for itself over time and mine has lasted forever!
 
what kind of dog do you have? if its short haired you dont really need to take it to the vet anyway but if its short haired or long haired get pet zoom i have labs and one of them sheds a TON and that works really good at getting the hair out and the under coat. also it comes with a razor type thing that can cut out loose hairs or things that get stuck in their coat. also it has a button that you push to make the bristles longer of shorter so you could use if for long or short haired dogs. also if you push the button again the bristles dissappear so the hair is left on top whish makes for quick and easy cleaning.
