I am soon planning to get Cricket(El Paso) and I had a few questions in mind. For those of you who have Cricket, do you like the service? How much will I have to pay to get the service when I first go in? How much is exactly each month if I get the $45 unlimited. Can I buy a used phone let's say from ebay and then take it in to Cricket so it can be activated? Would there be any problems? Will I still get the first month free and free activation if I buy the phone off of ebay or will I need to buy the phone there? Thanks so much in advance.

first month and activation for free require you to purchase a NEW cricket phone from a cricket store (refurb phones do not get this). if you want to activate a used phone you will have to pay for the first month + activation. depending on how much the taxes in your area are this could be more than $75. (here it comes to $68 with just the $45 plan no add ons)
if you do purchase a phone from ebay make sure that it is either a cricket phone or has been programmed for use on cricket. only cdma phones will work, and cricket will not support any problems with phones flashed from other carriers (including the initial programming). so if you don't feel comfortable troubleshooting problems, or you just want to be able to go in for help stick with a cricket phone.
