Getting back in Action

The thought often occurs to me that afternoon action cartoons are a thing of the past but I really think it's something that should be brought back. I don't care what channel it's on and in that sense some channels do offer action in the afternoon but not like the way things use to be and certainly not with anything they doesn't air the rest of the day on those channels.

So lets discuss the options for a new afternoon action block. What channel could it potentially air on. What could it air?

IMO the ideal start for a new action block would be to for one of the major youth networks to pick up a few aquisitions with at least 26-52 episodes or more ready to air and pair those with some of their pre-exsting program.

I think the key to a potential blocks sucess will be it's variety so I would like to see a block with shows from all over the world. US, Canada, France, Japan, Korea (though I'm only familiar with North America, Japan and some French series myself).

I'd like to see a block with 4 unique shows with similar but different target audiences. Something for everyone if you will.

This is what I'd like to see.

04:00 - Already available American cartoon to lead the charge, probably a Super Hero cartoon
04:30 - Original Action Cartoon aquisition from North America
05:00 - Long Running Anime
05:30 - Original Action Cartoon from other parts of the world

Surely you can see what I'm getting at here. Something to fill the void of Toonami or potentially a new Toonami on CN but please leave Toonami discussion out of this thread.

Here's an example of this block on Nicktoons Network

04:00 - Avatar or Wolverine and the X-Men
04:30 - Class of the Titans
05:00 - One Piece
05:30 - Time Jam: Valerian and Lauraline

Here's one for Disney XD

04:00 - The Spectacular Spider-Man
04:30 - Class of the Titans
05:00 - Digimon or One Piece
05:30 - Time Jam: Valerian and Lauraline

Here's one for Cartoon Network

04:00 - Batman TB&TB, Clone Wars, Saturdays or Alien Force
04:30 - Class of the Titans
05:00 - Naruto or One Piece
05:30 - Time Jam: Valerian and Lauraline

Yeah similar on all 3 since Class of the Titans and Time Jam are two shows I REALLY want to see on US television and they'd be great shows to start a block with.

So those are my ideas what are yours?

My ideal one would be this:

Code Lyoko
Oban Star-Racers
Megas XLR (can technically be considered an action show)
The Batman

It'd probably be on Cartoon Network. They'd just need to acquire Oban from Disney.

I'd like something original in action. Like Secret Saturdays or Avatar. A show on mystical (not magical) creatures and a show of element-bending nations is pretty original to me. ;)

Considering two of those shows only have 26 episodes (or less, I don't know how many Oban has) you might want to consider some shows that could rotate in as well.

I still think that if someone jumped on the Golden Sun license and made a cartoon out of that they would see quite a bit of success if they did it properly. It would be a good choice for an adaptation into an action cartoon.

Well this isn't really a thread about making new cartoons though I would love to see a Golden Sun cartoon assuming it's good. But that seemed kinda... random.

Instead of an action block, I want someone to make a channel devoted to action animation. For example, over in the Philippines, they have a channel called http://forums.rabroad.net/hrghgfHero TV. It mostly shows anime, but also some Western shows and tokusatsu like Ultraman Tiga. It's pretty awesome, and this country really needs something like that.

Hero TV looks pretty cool. Lots of my favorite anime and even Ninja Turtles. Though it's got a lot of comedy anime so it's kinda odd to consider it purely an action channel.

I'd love to see a channel like that in the US and more or less... FUNimation channel does that just without tokutatsu and western animation.

I want a block on a commonly available network because it'd be well... available to watch. An all action channel wouldn't be very available from the get go or even in the long run. Still it's nice to consider that possibility.
