Getting another stereo amp to go with my car?

I have a Mercury Grand Marquis with 4 Polk audio speakers and a 350.4 4 channel Kicker Amp. I want to get a sub woofer for the bass sound since I don't get much bass right now out of the speakers. Is it possible to get another Amp hooked up in the trunk. I read about watching how much wattage your alternator can take but can someone tell me how much wattage power my alternator can take? My car is a 1999 model has 45,000 miles on it and its a 4.6L V8 engine. I wanted to get a good powerful system maybe a 1,000 watt dual 12 inch subs for the trunk but I know the 350 watt won't push that. Please help.
 
Usually cars that are V8 have a pretty high amp alternator and i think it could take it. try it and if it dims your lights try to find a alternator with more amps but i'm pretty sure that the alternator has plenty of amps. Upgrade your battery if it isn't already
