So i was finally able to convince my parents to get a dog, and i want a husky, mostly because they look great, and they are able to manage to deal with the only rule my parents set out. My parents don't want the dog in the house. So i agreed. But i am wondering if it is healthy for the dog. I know that a husky is built for cold conditions, thus i think that he might be good staying outside in the winter. But one of my friends told me that he might have trouble in the summer because of his thick coat, but i heard that he would shed the fur, and in the most extreme case, i can shave some of his hair off (not bald but shorten it u know what i mean). So please give me feedback on what u know either from previous experience or knowledge. Thanks.
Oh and by the way, when i mention i will keep him outside, i mean building an insulated dog house in a covered area in our back yard. there is a little alley with concrete ground, where i can build that insulated dog house and add a little slope thing that will block rain and snow. It is like a small alley way that will also block wind too, so i mean i can work really hard to provide him with stable living conditions. I will also care for him, its not like i will just throw him outside or anything. Thanks again
The reason why i thought i could keep it outside is because i used to have one in the states that i kept outside, it was a German shepherd. But it was in a less harsh climate with warmer winters and cooler summers. The dog was great, and looked very healthy, i just gave it away to the shelter when we moved to canada. So what im asking is just will the dog's health be affected?
