Hey Guys, some of you might be familiar Jbenchmark (http://www.jbenchmark.com/)

Right now N95 and N93 are battling for the top spot, with N93 being overall faster.
Either way, get your phones benchmarked to show the others that ours is faster lol

Things I noticed:
-Interesting how some of the L'amour phone are perfoming very good
-The 3D game test I ran it previously from N80, now from N93 it runs totallly smooth, 3D hardware makes a big dif.

They are using about the same CPU/graphics hardwar a.k.a OMAP2420

But just like CPU/GPU's in PC's you'll get a faster performing sample or part that is just slightly higher in performance.

Also there is the fact that N95 is not that optimized YET, and with upgrades it might get better.
Or it just might be that the N93 is slightly more efficient in some wierd way eventhough they sport the same hardware core.

Slightly is very different from more than two times. I mean 91 vs. 41 for the same processor is just not possible even if the software on the N95 was really messed up. Most reports have the N95 being peppier than the N93. Even the Nokia 7373 gets 85.

Peppier feel of N95 vs N93 has more to do with optimized software than anything else, as the hardware inside is basically the same.

Besides, these score are "best of" so not indicative of all samples, the hightest performer amongst all N93 samples get's placed.
It is possible that another sample of N93 with same clock frequency will perform worse, but this is expected and CPU in pc;s behave the same way.
Of chip wafer, some samples are of better quality and will perform better and in some cases will overclock faster. While others with same clock frequency will overclock less good and perform less.

Maybe it's OVERCLOCKED!

Having used N93 for 6 months, I'm still UNSATISFIED with the speed!
I hope Nokia would release newer N93 FW soon...

Lol, never heard of overclocked phones, but you get the idea, some wafer yield better chips.

I'm hoping for some new firmware myslef, before I add the N95 to my collection

I have a Core 2 Duo overclocked to 3.6GHz sitting right here,so I know there are overclocking differences in chips.

However, even if one sample of the 2420 processor could overclock to 450MHz it would run at 330MHz in a Nokia device unless you overclocked it yourself. That is the design frequency of that chip and that's what it will run at. There is no way to explain 91 vs. 41 for the same processor by way of sample differences.

Please tell me lower numbers are better....

It's clear, K790a has a better Java VM. But please recognize that the User Interface score is pure cheat! Not suprisingly K790a JBenchmark2 results are not included at the official JBenchmark site see www.jbenchmark.com

These two phones have the same CPU and clock rate. The difference is caused by the failed XML parsing JBenchmark CPU test of N95. (This might be a bug in N95.) This can be easily solved by a better firmware.

You can compare the two phones here:

Maybe because the K800i is already there or because no one tested the K790 yet.
