Before I tell you guys/girls what I came here to do, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joe and I live in austin, tx. I have been a ducati enthusiast for as long as I can remember and hope to own a 696 after the first of the year. Wish me luck on that!

Anyways, I am a member of another forum and was reading this thread on there the other day and thought it was so ridiculous that I needed to share it with you guys.

Check this out and share what you think. I will go on record as saying that I think ducati's have come up in quality in recent years and are the best they have ever been. I will be proud when the day comes that I fire up my new 696 and ride it home (the senic route of course ).

i have to agree RC51

I dont care what they have to say. I have owned 4 Jap bikes and yes they are reliable but I've had issues out of them. I bought my ducati knowing darn well of what could happen, the maint, extra cost's ect but that didnt slow me down one bit.

It takes a different type of person to own a Ducati and its not for everyone. But who has goo goo eyes at bike meets when that hear / see these gorgeous babies pull up? Everyone. Even if they dont want to admit it. I used to be that way, but as scared to admit it.

I agree with him. I love my 1098, but he's right, it's not as reliable as a Japense bike. I don't mean that as a slam, it's just how it is. What that guy doesn't understand is that most Duc owners know this, and no one that I know of has made the claim that a Duc is as reliable or more so than a Japanese bike. We understand the deal with owning the bike. Most of us are just willing to live with it. It's a fair trade, because when it does run, it makes you feel like a superstar when you ride it.
