Get the whole Kanon series for...$30 (!!!)

On March 30, the re-release of the complete series of Kanon is released...for $29.99.

Before anybody here can get excited of the holy God price, look at the cover:



Wow. That seriously doesn't look right.

I mean, the Viridian Collections were actually pretty good on the art, but this seems to be an insult to people being patient for a price cut. Just stick an ugly green sticker pretty much ruining the art. It depenRAB whether it annoys people or not.

This makes me buying the previous set (of $70, but since I got it on Christmas. that's just a small price) have a bit of a close call.
 
I guess Veridian wasn't making the point well enough (and was maybe making it too clear that the point of those collections was very much in part to keep titles perpetually on shelves regardless of sales volume,) but yeah, this is a little obnoxious, both for yet again releasing the title (this makes 3 releases in 3 years - hope you didn't buy this in singles a mere two years ago,) and for having some less than attractive art (though it's not turning up on every website looking like that - have they done a package video for this yet?)

I wonder if they can come back on this in 2011 with a $20 MSRP.
 
Erm... a small suggestion FUNi if you will on these S.A.V.E. editions.

Dont' scrunch the cover art by featuring that yellow band across the left. Instead. Let the cover art do it's job while making the yellow band a removable plastic thing that covers the left of the case in shrink wrap. What's there makes it look awful.
