GET RID OF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON MY 89 TOYOTA PICKUP?

i have a 1989 toyota pickup. v6 5 speed 4x4. sr5 no a/c no power seats. has power locks power windows sunroof power steering abs. my check engine light comes up but ive replaced the O2 sensor and disconected the (-) terminal and still wont go away. i heard there is a reset somewhere but i have no clue about cars and i sure dont wannna send it to a mechanic... ANOTHER QUESTION. WHAT DOES ASE STAND FOR I SEE IT ON MOTOR OIL QUARTS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT
