Get Johnny Vaughan on daybreak

The thing that annoys be most about Daybreak is Adrian Chiles I really don't want to have him talk down too me first thing in the morning and having Christine Bleakley sit on his knee only makes its worse.

I think they should bring back Johnny Vaughan the big breakfast was cool and no-one wants to watch a news heavy breakfastshow on ITV when the BBC already do it far more professionally.

Will ITV admit that Daybreak is a failure?

Can they afford to pay off Adrian?

Can they afford to buy Johnny out of his capital radio contract?

So many questions.........To be honest as great as it would be, I can't see it happening.

Johnny Johnny Vaughan ..... he was brilliant on The Big Breakfast, and never has there been such entertainment in the morning. It was a sad day when Lock Keeper's Cottages shut their doors for the last time. :(

JV would be great on any morning tv programme but I really wouldn't saddle him with the turkey that is Daybreak .... dreadful name and just a glossed over version of GMTV.

More tea vicar ..... Sidnum Chump .... Thatch of the day with Jason in Fringe Benefits with the gypsy creams .... Sunny side up ....Inventors Corner .... One lump or two .... Vital statistics and of course JV's paper review.

All the above was so much brighter than the dismal Daybreak and the Friday programme always closed with ........

Singing, wakey, wakey, wakey rise and shine,
The big breakfast is the only way to dine,
It's your number one big brekkie
So get it down your neckie,
And stick with us from seven until nine!
:D:D

Oh how I love Johnny Vaughan!

I listen every day to his Capital breakfast show - and would love to see him on TV again! I loved the Big Breakfast when he was on it and I still miss it! He had a great comedy partnership with Denise Van Outen in those days.

I would even watch morning TV if he were on it......:o

To me, Adrian Chiles is just like somebody's boring old uncle who has been invited to a party he didn't want to go to and shouldn't have even bothered turning up.

Or Iain Lee. I used to love the way he would stand back and watch Kate Lawler spout her ignorant, ill-informed or downright offensive rubbish with just a hint of a smile on his face. I'm afraid I'm one of a small band of people who liked RI:SE.:o

Awww the link has vanished, but I do remember Sturdy Girl, JV constantly giving her a mention every day.

Is she now on something else? I seem to remember what she looks like with her headphone and voice mic on, and am sure she is perhaps on another programme and I haven't realised who she is.

How about New Balls Please with Mr Farquhar, Pushy Mums and there was a Collectors corner segment, Zig and Zag and the Lardburgers.

Loved BB, I have never laughed so much in the morning and really set me up for the day, and I bounded out to work with a spring in my step, and still chuckling to myself. :D

....... ohhhh , and not forgetting Harvey, JV's bulldog, and the day when his daughter Tabitha was born, a viewer sent him in a babygrow and JV was just blown away by it all.

Forget ITV - Big Breakfast wouldn't work on there.

Channel 4 should bring it back though. Breakfast TV is definately missing the mayhem. I'm pretty sure Lock Keepers Cottages are still there - but they're currently in the middle of the Olympic Building Site so might be difficult to get access to them. But Channel 4 are the official broadcasters of the Paralympic Games - so The Big Breakfast during those would be good!

I'd forgotten what it was called, however Iain Lee was pretty dire and Durden-Smith did a better job of presenting.

Daybreak seems to be a poor imitation of that programme.

RI:SE was the Channel 4 replacement for the Big Breakfast. It was an immediate failure but clung on for a while, changing the presenters and making it even more yoof orientated than before. It was pretty awful but I'm an Iain Lee fan so I stuck with it to the inevitable end.

And Expression Train with the lovely Liza, Jason and Auntie Tina, The Three Elvi, Carpetmonster and much more. I have about 30 shows still on tape (more by accident than design) but I could kick myself for not setting aside a 5 hour tape every week and simply recording a week

this made me laugh so much.
Firstly have you seen the convicted drug dealer JV lately - he looks a mess - Much better suited to radio now.
He's on the virgin Credit Card ads onboard Virgin Atlantic flights and a bit part on some slimming biscuit advert looking like a tramp.
Secondly..how many TV flops has he had since the Big Breakfast?
There was his chat show on BBC3, The Show on ITV..all dreadful and all doomed.

He's TV history.
