GERD and swelled neck muscle???

Has anyone else experienced a swollen neck muscle near the throat? Mine is slightly swollen on the left side at the base of the neck. My doctor said it could be from damage to my throat from GERD.

The muscle is the sternomastoid muscle at the front of the neck on the left side and it swelled from the base to about an inch up. It's been that way for about 2 months now. No lymph node issue confirmed by 2 different doctors.

I actually noticed it after a did a weird stretch yawn in the morning and wondered if I pulled the muscle...but it doesn't hurt.

So...I'm wondering if this could be GERD related and if anyone else has experienced this.
 
Yep! I have that too. I think it is from the mucus and reflux and that brings on swelling. I just know it does feel swollen in there. Not sure how to fix it. I am trying everything. How are you doing?
