Gerbil has weird bald spot?

My gerbil is 1 year old, and he has a small spot on his stummy where the fur from both sides begins to close in on eachother, leaving a little tiny bald spot. I think its normal because other male gerbils in photos have it, but im still worried. Is this something to be concerned of?
 
If it stays small you shouldn't be concerned. If it grows larger take the poor boy to a vet that has experience in treating small animals. My mouse had the same thing but she died :(
