GeoHot leaves the scene and will not release the Universal Tool for the jailbreak of the various devices with IOS 4

GeoHot.
Writing this article was probably a bad idea. Next time I will not say anything. I miss the days when this blog was used only to write technical things. I've been thinking a lot about the feedback received and did not think the fact that people are not interested in knowing how things develop but are now ready to criticize harshly if they do not receive what they want. Now I know. And 'night now, think about what to do tomorrow morning about this whole thing.

The real reason that leads me to not release any tool is not a technical level. The problem is that if I do, this story will never end and will continue to be besieged with questions, with users who demand more and more. Blackra1n was asked after the unlock, then was asked after the untethered Blacksn0w Jailbreak and so on, without stopping. I miss the days when the jailbreak and unlock were really difficult to achieve. This led to users to have a much higher caliber.
 
He has all the rights to do it, because most people never even consider to ask or wonder how is it done, help out with some ideas (not things like: can u put my name or I`d like to give a shout out to :Someone:").

And as far as all the steps he and Devteam have shown (pictures which for most people look like doodles or "alien language") I have never seen a comment saying even something like: HEY! I recognize that, or something similar!

Most posts were related to: OMG, please I need it now, somebody think about my iPhone! Why don`t you release it already (it`s not like you paid for it and as far as it concerns him, he has all the rights to release it or not). If you`ve watched his video on Youtube where he explained about the iPhone and what you could do with it, that was something I could listen to and learn from it every day.

I mean no disrespect by saying this, but as far as I saw most of the posts relating Geohot and Devteam`s products some users started spamming: FAKE FAKE FAKE .... Doesn`t work (it does for the rest of the users and they will be willing to help, stop saying it doesn`t work and start the thread: "Hello, I might be doing something wrong, could you guys help me out?".

Nobody started a thread in talking about Blackra1n and Spirit and others, something like: Let`s contribute to the future development of these tools, can we help out with something.

I am sorry if people might feel attacked byt this post but 2 years ago, in a different techy area I had developed something (also free) and almost something similar happened, everybody wanted everything fast without even taking in consideration the time I spent, things I had to improve and bugs that might`v come up.
 
i must say you are so right about what you are saying and your poast here is a friendly 1 because i would use alot of harsh words against those who behaves like they did help with the development of those software and are asking for it to be release before perfection........so i,ll add a little to what you are saying all those motha fukas are ta get tha fuk away and leave the geniuses to their thing and i dont give a fuk who feel hurted by what i,m sayin here

You are duin a top job keep it up,
of course we understand the technical powers you have and the kindness also to release for us the softwares we need to get around iphones..........this is not from me only this is from all the guys out there that agree with me...

good dont do anything from now its a good news for apple i think coz dev TEAM is there to handle them (yea they are slow n steady no doubt and they r a whole team ) y u want to contribute n work for others for free coz u think no1 appreciate your work , every1 is demanding, every1 have some or the other problem with your stuff hell ya obviously v know u are good into it u know a hell lot then others but u forget that u are human being u aint *** bro
only 1 word u are perfect in your stuff but u aint ***.
 
the one posting a poll in this forum about who is more help full is the one that should be blame of sir geohot posting message like that. people should just wait till the pro give there solution / help...

a very sad news but I do respect his decision and also agree with what he said.
people only know how to criticize, I really want to see them doing the job these geohot and the dev-team is doing and not only them as there are many other people trying but because of the difficulty level they can't succed but they keep trying.
 
If this is true... it is indeed a very sad day for all those who hold this (and other) experts in very high regard.

His work has helped thousands or otherwise helpless (iphone-using) individuals, with apparently little (expressed) thanks and too much criticism.

I haven't ever managed to get my one and only iphone jailbroken or unlocked yet, but give honour to all working to working in this very specialised field.

I think apple have something to do with this. think about it He showed off an untethered jailbreak for new iPhone and iPod touches back in March, followed by a jailbreak for iPad and iOS 4 Beta in April, but none of them ever saw light of day makes no sense to me too taimur. i think he have to be wise and make a good decision. which is not silly like he did. there are hundreds and thousands of brains out there to jailbreak and unlock the iphone. we may forgot his name (Geohotz) after a while but we will still find a why to unlock iphones.
 
i do agree the above post.but the main reason geo hot left the scene is GERMANY LOST THE WORLDCUP". F...........ggggggggg OCTOPUS spoiled the jailbreak of iphone anymore.
 
Geohot left everything behind because of these very important reasons:

South Park hasn`t aired any new episode in a while;
Global Warming;
Loads of money lost in World Cup bets;
and other government conspiracies.

C`mon. If he was that stupid to fall for any of these or other reasons mentioned by other users, he wouldn`t be one developing Blackra1n.

Since the word got out about his "leaving the scene" everybody started to feel sorry, or be sorry, or as I`ve read on another post: So what, he wasn`t any good anyway! You have all the rights over his product, you should pursue him and get the latest Jailbreak that he was able to do from his microwave (it has a built in hi-tech computer).

I`m not de*****ng him or anything, I don`t even know the guy, but so far he`s done a great job, Devteam aswell (congrats, you`re really good, keep up the good work).
 
Well, some people just never learned. Someone post solutions and probably might not work 100% to some individual, probably due to diff computer hardware, software etc etc. It just aint right to shout out "Fake" and condemned the whole thread or the person who is trying to help by offering solution he think might work.

Maybe the forums should start banning those users with such attitude and keep the positive comments around. Keep those negative "thinker" or whatever you wanna call it away.

I totally agree with Tethryus and Im sorry for what he has been thru. Its those people who never think, drive the "brains" away.

Thats sad!
