how do i get the bolt that attaches the fly wheel and stator to tighten properly. every time i try to tighten it the fly wheel and staor spin with the bolt. I need to fix this asap i have a run that i'm going on later today! http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/cheapcycleparts/Kawasaki_OEM/KawasakiMC.asp?Type=13&A=444&B=31 this is the diagram of how it goes together the flywheel is the out of the two larger pieces in the picture thanks for the help.

you have to lock it up,stop the flywheel from spinning...this can be done by first gear and back brake on but this is a bit springy...sometimes theres holes in the flywheel that you can put a thick screwdriver in and jam it but be VERY carfull that you don't damage anything...you might get away with some thread lock and a good, powerful windy gun...

My Kawasaki's are a little different than yours. On mine, to remove the bolt, you hold the rotor with a special tool that holds it with studs in two holes on the outside of the rotor. On yours, it looks like you hold it by the two holes on the side of the rotor. Be careful because if you go to poking things in there, you can damage the magnets on the inside.

One thing I'm not clear on, does this alternator fit directly onto the end of the crankshaft? If so, it doesn't matter if the rotor does spin. All you have to do is stop the crankshaft from turning which putting it in gear will help do.
