Brief plot summary

Just watched the first ep and I thought it was pretty good. It has an interesting cast (A bishi Otaku?!) and is very uniqe in my opinion. I mean how often do we see anime that centers around average Otaku and their everyday lives. Even though I'm just basing this off the first ep I definilty reccomend giving it a try.

About time others got into it. So far this has been a great adaption of the manga. I even compared TZ's own Karl Olson to Tanaka from this. While not being filled with action to it's rim, the premise is easy and not really hard to imagine as these are the actual type of people that live among us. Yeah, the characters feel connectable and real in a way. I'm also pleased with the background work, it's very well done. Not being hardcore myself, I can't possibly point out all the anime refrences(since they use actual quotes from anime in everyday conversations, like a second language) but the Gundam fanboy was handed to me by the manga's certain chapter cover, not to mention the talk that goes on.

I see this being under the radar but in that good kind of way.

Yeah this will more than likely be a sleeper hit which is a shame. I have'nt run across such a likable cast of characters in while and like you said I too relate to some of them esp Sasahara. I'll have to check out the manga later on.

You misunderstood me I want it to be a hit also. But since it does'nt seem that well known and seems like it will be a sleeper hit. So I said it was a shame because it would'nt get the attention it deserves

Well, My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a sleeper hit and tons of people saw it. I think we have a definition problem here-- a sleeper hit is usually something that gets very little notice when it comes out but through word of mouth or other means becomes very popular later on. Galaxyquest is another example. I think you mean to say cult favorite.

Perhaps when you put it that way. Really I think I was just mixing the both of them togeather. Sorry bout that. Anyway Just watched ep 4 and things just keep getting better and better. This is just the kind of show I needed. I was starting to feel burnt out but this is a real breath of fresh air.

Thanks. Oh. Wait. No.

Definitely a fun, different and interesting show (and it's proof that anime is being targetted around progressively narrower audiences,) but I wouldn't want to be compared to anyone from it, even the bishonen otaku. I don't look up the skirts of my figurines, and all of my doujinshi is completely clean.

Hmm. SounRAB a lot like Comic Party with the datesim elements removed... could be fun. I'd been wondering exactly what this series was about, since the promos don't exactly make it obvious.

You don't approve?

I'm willing to bet there are some people like that, but for a general census I'd minus the negative points, such as you pointed out, and you'd basically have a class of people. Many among our internet. Not a stereotype situation, but more like "Hey...they act like, somewhat, normal people".

Very cute, very funny show, albeit quite depressing.

Depressing if you ever find yourself thinking, "haha, I do that sometimes."

My very next thought being, "...oh dear god. Which way do you slash your wrists again? Down or across?"

Just finished the fourth episode, and I am stunned someone else remerabers playing "Manhole."

"Bonjour, je m'appelle Monsieur Tortoise."

Hate to bump an old thread but, I just Watched the final episode and I gotta say I was a little disapointed. It did'nt feel like a final episode at all and who was the person with the pulled back hair at the end?

I haven't seen it (c'mon, when the Japanese company themselves asks no more fansubs...), but from what I've heard the series may have actually been cut short. That, or they were just following the manga, and just stopped when they ran out of episodes.

As for who that was, read the manga. It's coming out from Del Ray... next month, I think?

Hmm, sorry to hear that. Have neither finished the manga nor the anime, but it being dissapointing for the anime isn't music to the ears. And I'm guessing the ending for each are basically the same, seeing as the anime had all the materials from the ended manga.
