Genndy Tartakovsky's Priest prologue

Chanced upon this while visiting Cartoon Brew.
The character designs are so different from what we've been associating with the Brother.
I'd like to see him perpetrate a film utilizing these character designs.

Let me be the first to tell you before some rough/brusque others do,
for I respect your sheer excitement in starting this thread:

Genndy's surname is spelt Tartakovsky, not Tarkovsky.

It's nice to see Genndy not have to hold back and use oil to get his gore fix. And though the scenes with the vampires were good, those scenes were the preists were awesome. Seriously, they should of let Tartakovsky do a full animated version of this movie instead of it being a live action 3D piece. Yeah sure they figure that will probably make more money, but I have a feeling Tartakovsky could of done the film a lot cheaper then they spent on it, and if they did a good advertisement for the flick, maybe some would of checked it out just to see a good 2D movie in theathres. Then just another action piece. Just seeing that bit actually made me almost consider seeing Preist which I otherwise forgot exisited. That says something right there.

Sorry, always confuse him with another famous Russian director, who's films I've been watching a lot lately. Hopefully a mod will change it.

Ok, why are we not getting THIS movie? Its high time we got an animated adaptation of a graphic novel, and what do we get? Just another generic popcorn flick. Poor GT, hes the Don Bluth of this generation. Lets hope he doesnt make cheesy fairy tale musicals:p.

Speaking of Tartakovsky and Marvel, didn't Favreau hire him to do some work on Iron Man 2? Though I'm not sure what the extent of his work was and what influence it had on the final product. My thought was he came in to storyboard and do some action sequences.

Yeah, I think that was pretty much about it on IM2. I mean after Clone Wars these studios should be beating down his door. The one drawback is he likes his comedy a little too much, but it's his action direction that is creme de la creme. He should by all rights be doing his own DC animated series or at least a dtv.

As for Priest, not interested in the movie. If Genndy had did this in the theater only, I would've paid for it.

Yeah, too bad they wouldn't let him animate the rest of the movie. It got my attention more than the live-action stuff did.

We should all go see that movie, but we'll all probably leave when the prologue is done...

Ah, thankyou!

*watches* Yep, they shoulda let Gendy do the whole damn thing. I was all "how cool!" for the animated parts, then it went live action I was all like "how cheezy."

I actually doubted that animation was Tartakovsky for the first few minutes, until they closed up on the faces. It's hard not to instantly recognize his iconic square faces.

I sincerely hope Sony lets him do an entire animated movie. This man just needs some writers and he could create something memorable I'm sure.

How about if Genndy Tartakovsky makes an animated Priest movie that's actually based on the manwha and just doesn't use some names?

South Korean theatrical release and international DVD release either playing on the popularity of the comic or Tartakovsky reputation with animation fans could make a nice chunk of cash if marked right.

Apparently, he's working on the animated movie, Hotel Transylvania. That movie has been in development hell for a while, so maybe he can turn it around.
