1.) where is the cpu? is it in the monitor? (never owned a mac)
2.) are there different versions of it?
3.) would you reccomend it to take the place of my current pc?
4.) what is the difference between this and the mac pro?
5.) which would you reccomend?
6.) does it have a touch display?

1) Everything except the mouse and keyboard is contained in the screen.
2) You should buy the current version.
3) It is an excellent desktop pc
4) The mac pro is like a regular desktop with a separate monitor and tower case. the iMac is an all-in-one so to speak.
5) I would recommend the iMac unless you plan on doing alot of stuff that requires high graphics.
6) It does not have a touch display.

hope that helped!

1. Yes. Think of it as a vertical laptop.
2. Yes, if you mean processors, hard drives etc. Check the Apple website.
3. I'd recommend it to anyone. It has a very small desktop footprint, built in wifi and bluetooth and a webcam. You can get by with one cord on your desk (the power cord) and use a wireless keyboard and mouse like I am right now.
4. The Mac Pro is more customizable and it has a separate tower and monitor. Think of a good looking PC.
5. The iMac unless you are into graphic design or heavy photo work.
6. Nope.
