I have had allergies for my entire life, been taking claritin since i was about 9, but my body has built immunities to all the allergies medicines i have taken so far. I am now 17 and living in Florida, I have to switch every 6 months or so because the medicines no longer help with any of my symptoms, which are quite a lot. I was tested about 4 months ago for allergies and my results were uhm, interesting:
Allergic To:
The doctor strongly recommended i get allergy shots, but i am planing on going to college next year, and it would just be something that would be really difficult to pursue. I also discussed it with some reliable sources, and they recommended that i not go through with it due to the biological aspects of my body (with it still changing and whatnot).
When i travel my allergies hit extremes. Last year i backpacked in colorado for a week, and for the entire week I could not breath out of my nose at all, it blocked my sense of smell as well as taste for an entire week. And once i returned to Florida it went right back to normal. This also happened in Noveraber while still in Florida, blocking my nose completely for a few days.
When i forget to take my medicine, which at the moment is Xyzal, my eyes become extremely itchy and watery, i sneeze non stop, my nose is continously running, and i cough.
Is there any suggestions on how to change the enviorment i live in or daily routines so that my allergies are lessened, or any other suggestions?
