Gene Simmons' son plagarizes Bleach to make crappy comic, gets served by internet

Me me me

They did mention that Bleach wasn't the only one that he copy, didn't thought he also copy One Piece and for crying out loud he made the bad guy just like Crocodile with the hair style and facial expressions.

The OP page ripoff is just lame! Seriously it doesn't even match with the panels, a punch here than a finishing blow, the worst part is that how he drew the guy getting impaled, he's more like running in the air.

LOL, oh man he isn`t even TRYING.

"Yeah, let me just CARBON COPY the designs of two chrachters from two manga read by millions both in america and Japan, I`m sure no one will notice."

What a freaking idiot.

Not to mention that Crocodile's already making a come back on the new chapters of the manga and anime.

Any word from him yet? I know for sure Radical's pissed off with him.

Popping in for a sec because I wasn't sure if the (above) news had reached here yet. Yeah, the FB stuff was indeed a troll. I dunno the details but, I do know that much.

Guess my quote shows I was worried over nothing, heh.

Take a good luck at Simmons' concession (hat tip: ANN). We're down to "inspiration" instead of plagiarism. Anyway, now compare it to all that indignant facebook ranting.

Truly beyond parody, no?

I'm actually a little disturbed by how lame he manages to make all the characters look. The coloring is atrocious, the movement lacks any feel of motion, the proportions don't seem consistently stylized...

I think the thing that really strikes me is how hideously clean it looks. The characters all look like they're made of plastic.

As some have noted on ANN, there might be an aspect of not doing a full apology of any sort until legal issues are worked out. A full mea-culpa is a direct ticket to getting sued into the ground, which if this actually is taken to court, might still be the case, but it won't be as open and shut as if he'd apologized for line for line, word for word plagarism.

And let's just remeraber what he said just a few says ago on his facebook tirade...

This man is a liar.

Hmm. If such is the case, then I have to fully agree with that one blog that he should have kept his mouth shut. Nothing he said in that statement will even begin to revive his reputation. When you're apologizing for people's "impressions," you've ceded most of the battlefield already.

So basically he apologized if people felt offended by his tracing and not due to the fact that he traced many manga panels from various series? No! No! NO! The real crime is plagiarism, which every school frowns upon and tells you not to do.

The facebook tirade wasn't him but a troll.

That being said, his "apology" was a complete farce. I know there maybe legal reasons why he can't fess up yet, if at all but seriously? Tracing != homage. No one is going to see through that excuse. He can just KISS his artist career (if you can call it that) goodbye

HC and I have been inspired by Mr. Simmons and would like to present our own "homage" to anime:

An homage to his favorite manga artist? Please, If he really wanted to make an homage he would've drawn his own style and show some homages if he wanted since some comics, cartoons and anime had done that but what he did was just plagiarism. He seriously didn't apologize or admitted that he copy some pages of Bleach, One Piece and other artworks he took. I do hope that Radical cancel his comic and doesn't involve with him with future projects.

Pssh. That's nothing compared to my story about a Ghost Detective who joins the Mafia in an attempt to become King of the pirates with his talking electric mouse.

Down right ripped from One Piece and Bleach seriously guy has no pride in his art very sad but copining anothers work is a very serious act i know how i would feel if someone took one of my drawings and said hey I did this kinda depressing feelign really

Ehh, i dont think their going to sue him anymore, at the worst Radical just wont publish him, i mean the guys comic doesnt even sell that well, and Kubo doesnt seem to care...

However, it's not just Kubo's copyright to protect. Viz/Shueisha also owns rights, and if anything has to take legal action against stuff like this less they create precedent that'd lose them the copyright entirely. I suppose if Radical is just going to ditch him though, they may take that as defense enough.

It appears that he ripped off more than just Bleach, but One Piece as well. I'm sure someone is going through his work with a magnifying glass now to see if anything else was copied.
