Geico Insurance won't pay what my cars worth?

Hello All, I had a young kid total my 1994 firebird when he ran a stop sign, my car has over a $1,000.00 worth of rim's and tire's it has been lowered with custom spring, The car is red with T-tops, it has a v6 engine automatic with 188,000 miles and every thing work's. The front end was rebuilt when I lowered it from ball joint's to bushing's.the cars does not use oil or smoke. I trie to pulled up comparable cars but the closes I came is one's that did not run or had less mileage.they where going on an average of $4500.00 and now geico say my car is only worth $2500.00
I live in the state of California What kind of recourse do I have
