Gear?

Seems like Alpinestars is chasing after the urban market a lot more with its styling, trying to be a more upmarket Icon. The cut of their newer jackets are more relaxed, and less race-tuck-oriented than before.

I have both, but nowadays prefer the Dainese styling over A*s new skulls/leopard skin/camo direction.

Spyke.

I own both Dainese and A-Stars and, given that most anything from Italian leather companies is quality stuff*, what becomes most important is fit. Whilst the former two are more or less made for taller folk, Spyke fits far better for those of smaller stature (I'm 5'6").

Like all things, try before you buy.

*(even though none of these companies actually manufacture in Italy anymore!)
