GCSE art project idea help?

I need an idea for what to do for my first project. I told my teacher i was thinking about doing either animals or food. by animals, i guess i mean mainly horses, if i did food, i'd probably do sweet stuff and desserts.
We have to make 8 portfolio pages of research, sketches, paintings, work in different medians etc, and make one final piece, which can be fine art or design, and 2D or 3D.
I'm going to talk about it to my teacher next week, but i was just wondering beforehand, what do people think would make a better project, horses or food? and does anybody have any suggestions for what could be a final piece for both?
if i did food, i was thinking about clay cakes or something along those lines, but i honestly can't think of any particularly interesting final piece for the horses topic... help?!

well ive just done mine bout food..its soo much fun, i did chinese indian african, loads of different types of food, fruit wedding cakes etc

With food it can lead into some more varied ideas, so you could do lots of cooking and stuff but you could also do one on anorexia and peoples relationships with food. It can make so many more ideas and sketches and push you a bit further creatively than horses.
