I have started a new workout plan with my personal trainer, utilizing the GBC protocol (german body composition). This basicaly is designed to gain and preserve muscle whilst burning fat with mixed upper and lower body supersets. At the moment I am doing 2 sets of 9 different exercises. At the end of the two sets I feel completely drained and the thought of another set feels depressing! It takes about 45 minutes to do the two sets (along with a warm up). In my last phone conversation with my trainer he said I should be well into doing 3 sets by now. Should I just push myself harder and try 3 sets? If I do I highly doubt I'll be able to do as many reps as the other sets, and most likely will have to miss a few exercises as time is an issue (he said I shouldn't take more than an hour).
My diet is very good so no need to target that. Low carbs, high protein, huge amounts of vegetables, water, BCAA's, whey, creatine, nitric oxide. I am a qualified nutritionist.
The reason I am asking on here is because my trainer charges £1.50 for each phone call. Although I am listening to him, I also feel I should listen to my body and maybe get some more ideas/suggestions from people online.
